Real-device compatibility testing
IronLAB installs and launches your Android or iOS build on 200+ real physical devices before you go live, so a Samsung on an old OS or a Xiaomi with aggressive background restrictions never becomes a one-star review.
One build. 200+ real devices. One answer.
Today’s mobile ecosystem is fragmented: hundreds of devices, OS versions and vendor customisations. IronLAB is a real-device compatibility testing service for any mobile app, whether you are launching a newly built app, testing pre-release builds or validating a hardened app before release.
IronLAB helps you answer the questions an emulator cannot:
Your app runs as intended across the devices your users actually use, before you go live. It is about making sure your security never breaks your business.
Every figure below is checked on a physical device in the IronLAB environment, not in a simulator.
Apps are tested on actual devices including Samsung, Xiaomi, iPhone, Huawei and more.
Covers popular models and OS versions from Android 8 to Android 15 (Beta) and iOS 14 to 18.
Results back within a day to support go/no-go decisions and app store submission timelines.
Unlike emulators, real devices reveal the issues that only appear in your users’ hands:
Hardened apps deserve the same scrutiny. Running the protected build through IronLAB confirms that obfuscation and runtime protection ship without a compatibility surprise.
Four phases, one report. You send a build; we return pass/fail by device.
You send the APK, AAB or IPA and define the key test objectives, such as installation and launch behaviour.
The app is installed across real physical devices spanning brands, OS versions and vendor ROMs.
Scripts simulate installation, launch, login and navigation through the key flows you defined.
A summary report highlights pass/fail status for every device, with notes and visuals for each failure.
The IronLAB report summarises the results of a real-device compatibility smoke test. Its primary objective is to confirm that your application can be installed or updated and launched across a wide range of real physical devices representing the actual market.
For every device, the test verifies that the application:
Treat it as a pre-release quality checkpoint: proof that the app functions at a basic operational level across fragmented device and OS environments before it reaches the store.
A compiled build: APK or AAB for Android, IPA for iOS. You also tell us the key objectives, typically installation, launch and the first screens a user reaches. No source code is required.
200+ real physical devices from Samsung, Xiaomi, Apple, Huawei and other popular brands, covering Android 8 through Android 15 (Beta) and iOS 14 through 18. Together they represent about 95% of the market. If you need a specific regional model, tell us when you submit the build.
Results are returned within 24 hours of receiving the build, so the report fits inside a go/no-go meeting or an app store submission window.
Emulators do not run vendor ROMs such as MIUI or ColorOS, do not reproduce the memory and CPU limits of a four-year-old mid-range phone, and cannot show hardware-only faults. IronLAB runs your build on the actual hardware, which is where those failures appear.
Yes, and we recommend it. Running the protected build through IronLAB confirms that the hardened app installs and launches cleanly across the device matrix, so security ships without a compatibility surprise.
A summary of pass/fail status by device for installation and launch, with notes and screenshots for each failure so your developers can reproduce it. It is written to be read by a release manager as well as an engineer.
Find the vulnerabilities in the build before release, with static and dynamic testing and remediation guidance for every finding.
Multi-layer, codeless hardening applied to the compiled binary, with anti-tampering and runtime self-protection built in.
See every threat against the app in production, with behaviour-based detection and the response policy you set.
Send us a build. Within 24 hours you get pass/fail by device, with the failures documented, before your users find them.
End-to-end mobile application security. Assess, harden and monitor Android and iOS apps with codeless integration.
